Wednesdays Facebook Live from Wonderland

Howdy Friends,

I hope you are holding up well and finding some joy during our collective confinement. We’re looking forward to sharing some time and music with you via livestream from the band’s Facebook page. You can tune in Wednesdays starting March 25, 8pm Texas Time (6pm Pacific, 7pm Mountain, 8pm Central, 9pm Eastern, [26th] 01:00 London, 02:00 Amsterdam, 06:00 Tokyo) A. Whitney Brown will kick things off with his “Little Big Picture” and we’ll play some new tunes, old tunes, some requests, and talk trash for about a half hour each week. Afterwards, you can find the videos on our YouTube Wednesdays Live From Wonderland playlist here:  and feel free to subscribe to our channel:

This weekly free-for-all will be free for all, and we’re passing the virtual tip jar for those who can spare it

Venmo: Carolyn-Wonderland

I cannot wait to exchange air molecules with you again and share our company in person, and tour behind that new record we just recorded with Dave Alvin producing… Absence makes the heart grow stronger? Hope to see you soon, my strong hearts.

Carolyn Wonderland July 2019 tour

Thanks for your messages of concern. I am recovered from my recent surgery and am running close to full steam. I went on tour with John Mayall three weeks after getting my bionic hip and was off the cane, walking fairly normally (for me) about a month in to the trip. Man, that was a crazy tour! John’s Spring European tour hit 15 countries, 46 shows, in 55 days – and his new release, “Nobody Told Me” even reached number one on the Blues charts while we were touring. The shows were fun, the band was grooving, and my boss is a tank! We return for 60 days this fall after a couple of legs in the US.

I have enjoyed my time at home getting to play with Sis Deville, Shelley King, and Marcia Ball! It occurs to me that the only chance one has to see the Carolyn Wonderland Band (featuring the stellar and interstellar Kevin Lance and Bobby Perkins) in Texas for the next few months will be this coming Thursday, May 30th, at Antone’s. We’re playing with the amazing Davy Knowles! Doors at 7, show at 8

I’m on the road with John Mayall in June hitting the following:

June 13, 14, 15, 16 – Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley – Seattle, WA

June 18 – Aladdin Theater – Portland, OR

June 19 – The Shedd – Eugene, OR

June 20 – Tower Theatre – Bend, OR

June 22 – Rio Theatre – Santa Cruz, CA

June 23 – Yoshi’s – Oakland, CA

June 25 – Crest Theatre – Sacramento, CA

June 26 – The Siren – Morro Bay, CA

June 28 – Club Madrid at Sunset Station – Henderson, NV

Then I’ll come home, throw the clothes in the wash, repack, and take Kevin, Bobby, and Shelley Cox back out on the road!

New Year’s Eve. You likely have plans. Perhaps we’ll see you in Houston at the Last Concert Cafe with Moses Guest and the Hightailers? Before you go, be sure to check your local PBS station and record in whatever manner you may the Austin City Limits’ Hall of Fame show, airing that evening. Marcia Ball, Ray Charles, and Los Lobos were inducted this year! The musical guests will blow your mind. I am super grateful to Marcia Ball for asking me to join her amazing menagerie of musicians. Here’s a clip of Ruthie Foster, Shelley King, and me, with the badass house band backing up Gary Clark, Jr. (from Rolling Stone)

The new John Mayall album drops this February! Pre Order “Nobody Told Me” now and instantly get the song “Distant Lonesome Train” co-written by Joe Bonamassa, who also plays guitar on two songs. Other special guests include Little Stevie Van Zandt, Todd Rundgren, RUSH’s Alex Lifeson, Larry McCray, and yours truly. (That’s me attempting to channel my inner Cindy Cashdollar on “Distant Lonesome Train”) Fun record! I look forward to playing these songs live soon!

I had such a lovely time on our short November So Cal run with John, Greg Rzab, and Jay Davenport!…
